Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman of business. she is the current president and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native, grew up with an affluent life. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman with a real estate business who later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated as her parents divorced in the year 1972. In 1972, at age 19, she began working in the family business. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She served as the director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the position of vice-president for the Lakers. Buss along with her five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who was the owner of the Lakers and ruled them until his death in 2013, inherited the ownership via an estate. Each of them enjoyed the same vote rights. Buss assumed the role of the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
