Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B and R&B. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, the singer has done work everywhere. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing piano in church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship on the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan It has since been re-mixed by many producers and is a staple in her live show. The voice of hers was featured in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was the drummer in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, invited her to serve as the choral leader for this stage show. Sunshine was at the center of attention for America during 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
